Robert John Steinberg

Robert John Steinberg, age 75, of Greensboro, Georgia, passed away Friday, January 21, 2011 at Saint Joseph''s Hospital East in Greensboro. Born in Lapeer, Michigan on February 13, 1935, he was the son of the late John Steinberg and Beulah Ronald Steinberg. After graduating from Lapeer High School, he joined the United States Army and served his country until his honorable discharge in March of 1963. He worked in Detroit for a number of years before becoming an Education Instructor for IBM and retiring in 1991 after thirty years of service. He was a member of Lake Oconee Lutheran Church in Eatonton, GA. He moved from Canton, GA to the Del Webb community in Greensboro, GA three years ago and enjoyed playing golf, Bible study, cards and going fishing with his grandson Robby.

In addition to his wife, Jean Steinberg, whom he married in 2006, of Greensboro, GA, he is survived by a daughter, Lisa Bryan and husband Chip of Acworth, GA; a son, Michael Steinberg and wife Kim of Fort Worth, TX; a stepdaughter, Angela Brooks and husband William of Covington, GA; a stepson, John Enloe and wife Kassandra of Jonesboro, GA; a sister, Ruth S. Reside and husband Bruce of Attica, MI; a brother, Ron Steinberg and wife Gloria of Clinton Township, MI; a grandson, Robby Bryan of Acworth, GA; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his first beloved wife, Elizabeth Steinberg in 2004.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, January 24, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at the Lake Oconee Lutheran Church, 1089 Lake Oconee Parkway, Eatonton, GA 31024 with Pastor Ron Schornhorst officiating. Graveside Services with military honors will be held at Kennesaw Memorial Park Cemetery, 1700 Whitlock Avenue, S. W., Marietta, GA 30064 at 3:00 p.m. Serving as pallbearers are Mike Steinberg, Chip Bryan, Bob Elkins, Don Freund, John Keyser and Harold Sowell. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon, January 23rd at McCommons Funeral Home.
