Robert Davidson Moody, age 84, of Greensboro, GA died Sunday, November 5, 2006 at Greene Point Health Care Center in Union Point. Born in Taliaferro County on February 15, 1922 he was the son of the late Homer Irby Moody and Mary Rena Taylor Moody. He was a graduate of Greensboro High School. For almost four years he served in the United States Navy during World War II in the South Pacific Theater. On August 9, 1944 he married Ruth Virginia Tolbert. During his working career he was a Quill Hand at Mary Leila Cotton Mill which later became Wellington Puritan where he was a Supervisor. He loved gardening and tending to his beautiful roses.
He is survived by his wife of sixty-two years, Ruth Virginia Tolbert Moody, of Greensboro, GA; three daughters, Virginia Pittard and husband Tommy of Greensboro, GA, Bonnie Dillon and husband Otto of Gainesville, GA and Nancy Adams and husband Paul of Augusta, GA; seven grandchildren, Christina Jones, Jo Nell Hammock, Brian Dale Hulsey, Doug Conley, Travis Conley, Stuart Conley and Joan K. Barner; six great-grandchildren, Gregory Jones, Katie Conley, Taylor Conley, Allie Conley, Harrison Conley and Jacob Hammock; and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Marvin Moody, Albert Moody and Henry Moody.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, November 8, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at McCommons Chapel with Rev. John Pike officiating. Interment will follow at Walker United Methodist Church Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Doug Conley, Travis Conley, Stuart Conley, Brian Hulsey, Danny Jones and Gregory Jones. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday night at the funeral home.
