Robert Thomas "Tommy" Mitchell, III

Robert Thomas “Tommy” Mitchell III, age 60, of Union Point, GA died Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at St. Mary’s Good Samaritan Hospital in Greensboro, GA.  Born January 9, 1958 in Atlanta, GA, he was the son of Joanne Goolsby Mitchell of Union Point, GA and the late Robert Thomas Mitchell, Jr.  He graduated from Towers High School in Decatur, GA.  After high school he proudly served his country in the United States Army in the 8th infantry division, Charlie 2nd Battalion/ 87th infantry from March 1976 until March 1979 in Germany. Tommy was a contractor for Womack Construction.  He attended Union Point Worship Center in Union Point, GA and enjoyed hunting and fishing.  He was a wonderful son, brother, father, grandfather and friend.

In addition to his mother, Joanne Mitchell of Union Point, GA, he is survived by three children, Robert Thomas “TJ” Mitchell, IV of Eatonton, GA, Stormie Mitchell of Swainsboro, GA and Megan Mitchell of Woodville, GA; grandchildren, Benito Bustos, Aiden Mitchell, Bobby Bustos, Faith Ricks, Tattianna Bustos, and Cleveland Hartmeyer; other relatives,many friends and his dog, Reno.

A Memorial Service and celebration of his life will be held Saturday, November 17, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at the Union Point Worship Center, 4981 Lamb Ave, Union Point, GA 30669  with Rev.
