Robert William Jaworski

Robert William Jaworski of Greensboro, Georgia, died Saturday, April 13, 2013 at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta at the age of 75. Mr. Jaworski was born in Evergreen Park, IL on July 4, 1937. He graduated from Chicago Vocational High School and received a Bachelor''s Degree with honors from the University of Pittsburgh while working, raising his children and attending classes at night. He proudly served his country in the United States Army receiving an honorable discharge in 1961. On April 25, 1959, he married the former Elaine June Vellegas and this April they would have celebrated their fifty-fourth wedding anniversary. After thirty years with U. S. Steel, he retired starting his own company, T. C. Incorporated, working another twenty-six years in engineering services. After living in Pittsburgh, PA, they moved to their home on Lake Oconee in 1998. Bob was an active and faithful member of Christ Our King and Savior Catholic Church, where he sang in the choir and was a member of the Fourth Degree of the Knights of Columbus. He was also a member of the American Legion in Pittsburgh. He enjoyed browsing the computer, keeping up with politics and spoiling his cat.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Nancy Kalwasinski Lesner. In addition to his wife, Elaine Jaworski, of Greensboro, GA, he is survived by two sons, Robert Phillip Jaworski and wife Kelly of Milledgeville, GA and Keith Allen Jaworski and wife Karen of Milton, GA; a daughter, Cherie Lynn Zell and husband Lee of Woodstock, GA; six grandchildren, Kaila McGlohon and husband Brad, Robert "Bobby" Charles Jaworski, Zachary Jaworski, Kyle Jaworski, Katie Zell and Robert Zell; two great grandchildren, Caleb Jaworski and Robert Peyton Jaworski; fourteen nieces and nephews; a number of other relatives, many friends; and his beloved cat, Sunny.

A Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, April 18, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Christ Our King and Savior Catholic Church, 6341 Lake Oconee Parkway, Greensboro, GA 30642 with Father G. Philip Ryan officiating. The Knights of Columbus will serve as pallbearers. A reception will follow at the church in the Sacred Heart Social Hall. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday night at McCommons Funeral Home with a Vigil being held at 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family request any memorials be made to the Knights of Columbus, c/o Christ Our King and Savior Catholic Church, 6341 Lake Oconee Parkway, Greensboro, GA 30642, or St. Jude Children''s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Pl, Memphis, TN 38105.
