Robert Lee Jackson, III, age 60, of Eatonton, Georgia, died Monday, January 14, 2008 at his residence surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with Lymphoma. He was born in Decatur, GA on July 1, 1947 and was the son of Col. Robert Lee Jackson, Jr. of Greensboro, GA and the late Jimmie Rachel Smith Jackson of Commerce. During his father''s military career, the family traveled extensively and lived abroad including Japan and Germany. He attended the University of Georgia and later began a career in commercial lighting in Atlanta. He founded and operated Lighting Sales & Design and had lived in Eatonton for the last twelve years. Aside from his tireless dedication to his family, he had a lifelong love for the outdoors, hunting and fishing as well as University of Georgia Athletics.
In addition to his wife, Sharon Yeates Jackson, of Eatonton, GA, he is survived by a son, Robert Lee Jackson, IV of Snellville, GA; and two daughters, Kimberly Jackson Clarke and husband Peter Clarke of Roswell, GA and Virginia Jackson Butts and husband Christopher Butts of Athens, GA; five grandchildren, Mary Scott Butts, Margaret Smith Butts, Charles Jackson Butts, Campbell Hope Clarke and Jackson Warner Clarke; and a number of other relatives and friends.
Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, January 19, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. at McCommons Chapel in Greensboro, GA with Rev. Ira McKeever officiating.
