Robert “Bob” Henry Fields, age 73, of Greensboro, Georgia, died at his home surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, June 28, 2008. Son of the late Watson Howard Fields and Orpha Pearl Wright, Bob was born on July 30, 1934, in Whitesburg, KY. He served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict and worked for General Electric for 32 years. After retiring in 1992 Bob and his wife, Sue Berry Fields, moved to Greensboro, where they have lived for the past sixteen years. He was an avid golfer and a member of Christ Our King & Savior Catholic Church.
Bob is survived by his wife; a daughter, Suzanne Yeganegi of Acworth, GA; four sons, Jon Eric Fields of Houston, TX, Chris Fields of Jonesboro, GA, Greg Fields of Acworth, GA and Matt Fields of Cedar Park, TX; two sisters, Lynn Schafer of Denton, TX and Jackie Ratliff of Knoxville, TN; two brothers, Watson Howard Fields of Nashville, TN and Paul Light of Kingsport, TN; seven grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Bob’s body will be cremated and laid to rest in his childhood home of Line Fork, KY. No service is planned.
