Robert Lee Dingler

Robert Lee Dingler of Union Point, Georgia, age 73, died on Friday, February 15, 2013 at St. Mary''s Good Samaritan Hospital in Greensboro. Mr. Dingler was born in Luthersville, GA in Meriwether County on September 17, 1939, the son of the late Seth Clark Dingler and Mary Cleo Gibby Dingler. He grew up in Union Point and graduated from Union Point High School and attended Floyd Junior College in Rome, GA. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He worked for the City of Union Point as engineer for the water system retiring in 2000. He was of the Baptist Faith, was very good at painting and carpentry. He loved to talk, enjoyed telling jokes and making everybody laugh.

In addition to his wife, Mary Edwards Kitchens Dingler, of Union Point, GA, he is survived by four stepsons, Melvin Kitchens and Kelvin Kitchens both of Union Point, Alvin Kitchens and wife Patricia of Bridgeport, AL and Darryl Kitchens and wife Lynn of Lexington, GA; grandchildren, Travis Kitchens and wife Kelly, Kyle Kitchens, Kelvin Kitchens, Jr. and wife Amanda, Dorothy Williford, Elizabeth Leigh Kitchens, Breanna Lamar, Dottie Wray, Jessie Wray, Jessica Masterson, Christipher Masterson and Tiffany Masterson; great grandchildren, Wyatt Kitchens, Will Kitchens, Rilyn Lamar and Deliah Kitchens; brothers, Richard Dingler and wife Belle, Edward Dingler and wife Priscilla both of Union Point, GA, John A Dingler and wife Nina of Belvedere, SC; and a number of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Seth Davis Dingler, Charlie James Dingler and Mildred Dingler Stewart.

Graveside Services will be held Sunday, February 17, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Greenlawn Cemetery, Rhodes Street, Union Point, GA 30669 with Rev. Bobby Tomlin officiating. Serving as pallbearers are Kelvin Kitchens, Jr., Kyle Kitchens, Travis Kitchens, Ricky Dingler, Jeff Dingler, Steve Lanier, Chris Edwards and Bill Mobley, Jr. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m to 8:00 p.m. Saturday night at Callaway Funeral Home, 208 N.
