Robert S. “Bobby” Bradley
Robert S. “Bobby” Bradley passed away on Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at his residence at the age of 92. Bobby Bradley was born August 3, 1923 to the late Dennis and Stella Smith Bradley. Bobby was born and raised in Greene County, having spent most of his childhood in the Liberty community, and also living in the Shiloh area. In 1941, he settled on a farm on Stagecoach Road, where he was a lifelong dairy farmer for nearly seventy years. Bobby coached numerous Little League teams in Greene County, and is known for building the first dairy “parlor” barn in the county. He is survived by two sons: Michael Steven Bradley and wife Jo Ann, and Robert Benjamin Bradley and wife Rhonda (all of whom still live on the farm), two grandchildren: Adam Bradley and wife Leslie, Ginger and husband Stephen Camillieri, and three great-grandchildren: Connor, Macay, and Luci Bradley. He was born the seventh of ten children, and is survived by two siblings: Lucy Conner and J. B. Bradley.
Bobby was affectionately known as “Papa,”, not just to his family, but to everyone he met. Though a farmer by trade, Papa relished spending his time with his grandkids and great-grandkids. It can be argued that few in Greene County have attended more ball games than Papa.
Visitation will be held at the F.U.M.C. Family Life Center in Greensboro on Saturday, November 21 at 11:00 A.M. followed by the service at noon, also in the Family Life Center.
