Richard Northcutt Obituary

Richard Adam Northcutt, 59, a resident of the Veazey Community in Greene County died Thursday, October 31, 2002 at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. Born on June 3, 1943, he was the son of the late Carles Northcutt and Dorothy Louise Tole Northcutt. He served in the U.S. Navy as a member of the Sea Bees Combat Construction Crew. He retired in 1999 after 24 years as a mechanic with the Georgia Department of Transportation. Since 2000 he owned and operated Northcutt & Sons Trucking, Inc.

He is survived by his wife of 23 years Melanie Askew Northcutt of the Veazey Community; a daughter, Tami Clark of Machias Port, Maine; a son, Adam Northcutt of the Veazey Community; a step-son Richard Bonanno of Menlo, Georgia; two sisters, Linda Faye Northcutt of Cynthiana, Kentucky and Carolyn Rowe of Lucauma, North Carolina; 3 grandchildren, Scarlet Leanne, Sara Cooke, Emily Clark; and 2 step-grandchildren, Carter Blake Bonanno and Michael Dalton Bonanno.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, November 5, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. at McCommons Chapel with Rev. Wayne Usry officiating. Serving as Pallbearers are Jimmy Moates, Johnny Kilpatrick, Wendel Hunt, Melvin Taylor, Ben Hurrell and Chris Peters. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers are Larry Kramer and Larry Jordan. The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Sunday night and Monday Night at the Funeral Home. McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
