Richard Irving “Dick” Lacy, age 68, of Greensboro, Georgia, died Friday, January 2, 2009 at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. Born in Columbus, Ohio on October 25, 1940, he was the son of the late William Farnsworth Lacy and Abby Bryant Lacy. He was a graduate of Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, Ohio. Dick retired after 30 years of marketing at Dupont in Wilmington, Delaware and then worked in Marketing and Development for XYMID, LCC until his death. He was a member of St. Paul’s Methodist Church of Wilmington, Delaware.
He is survived by his wife, Janet Crowell Lacy, of Greensboro, GA; three daughters, Karen B. Lacy of New York, NY, Cristina M. Olguin of Flagstaff, AZ and Kelly O. Jaakkola of Bedford, MA; two sons, William B. Lacy of Plymouth, MA and Andres G. Olguin of Flagstaff, AZ; a sister, Nina Lacy Bennett of Longmont, CO; a brother, Paul William Lacy of Fenghuang, Hunan, China; and a grandchild, age 7, Nia A. Jaakkola.
Memorial Services were held on Monday, January 5, 2009 at 11:00 a. m. at the Lake Club at Reynolds Plantation with Rev. Elton Richards and Rev. Bruce Bennett officiating. The family requests that memorials be made to 2009 Pan-Mass Challenge Fundraiser, checks made payable to Dana Farber Cancer Institute, Rider #33421-3.
