Richard James Holcomb, Jr. of Greensboro, GA, died Friday, December 14, 2007 at Athens Regional Medical Center. Born in Clarke County he was the infant son of Richard James "R. J." Holcomb, Sr. and Rebecca Leanne Thompson Holcomb of Greensboro, GA.

In addition to his parents he is survived by a sister, Harley Marie Holcomb of Greensboro, GA; two brothers, Nathaniel Andrew McDaniel and Issac Christian McDaniel of Greensboro, GA; paternal grandparents, Richard "Ricky" Holcomb and Deanna of Greensboro, GA; maternal grandparents, Beatrice Thompson of Penfield, GA and James Thompson and step grandmother, Teresa Thompson of Greensboro, GA; paternal great grandparents, Peggy Holcomb of White Plains, GA and the late Richard Holcomb and Brenda Griffin and Neal of the Veazey Community; maternal great grandparents, the late Rowland Thompson, the late Willie Rebecca Poss Meeks, Leona Webb Morrow of Union Point, GA and the late Robert William Huff; uncles; Jameie Thompson of Woodville, GA Jason Thompson of Eatonton, GA and Robert Thompson of Penfield, GA; aunts; Sharon Thompson of Penfield, GA and Stephanie and Brooke Holcomb of Greensboro, GA; and a number of cousins, other relatives and friends.

Graveside Services will be held on Tuesday, December 18, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Penfield Cemetery with Rev. Wayne Powers and Rev. Ron Smith officiating. Serving as pallbearers are Brad Rhoades and Jameie Thompson. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the Funeral Home. McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
