Ralph Tremel Obituary

Ralph “Charles” Tremel, age 72, of Greensboro, GA died on Tuesday, December 10, 2013 in his home surrounded by family. He was born on November 3, 1941 in East Chicago, Indiana to Gertrude Nabicht and Ralph Tremel. He attended St. Joseph’s High School, Culver Summer Naval School and Indiana University.

He developed his determination and strong work ethic as a young man in his family’s restaurant business in South Bend, Indiana. For more than forty-three years, Chuck worked as a Commercial Real Estate Broker developing many close relationships with colleagues in communities throughout the United States. He retired from Commercial Real Estate in 2012. In the last five years of his life, Chuck enjoyed a second childhood as a member of the Del Webb community in Greensboro, GA.

He had a lifelong passion for boats of all sizes, from rowing sculls and sailboats to motor yachts. Chuck loved to travel together with his wife Judy. They made several memorable trips with their motor home club and later with the Mercedes Benz Club to Australia in their antique car. He was also an avid reader. He enjoyed learning the history of coins, wristwatches, and clocks. As a young man Chuck was very involved with the Jaycees of South Bend, IN and more recently was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Greensboro, GA.

He will be dearly missed by his wife of 50 years, Judith and their three children Kate, Suzie and Carl, their sons-in-law, Joshua Cole and Rob Belusic and their two grandchildren, Lucas and Ruby Cole to whom he always showed great devotion and support. In addition, he leaves his sister Mary Ryan of South Bend, Indiana and his brother Joseph Tremel of Casper, Wyoming and many other loving relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother James Tremel.
