Ralph W. Dolvin, 79, of Brunswick, GA died Saturday, January 11, 2003 at St. Vincents Medical Center in Jacksonville, FL. Born August 31, 1923 in Siloam, GA, he was the son of the late Ralph Dolvin and Virginia O''Neal Dolvin. He was a graduate of Greensboro High School and was a member of Siloam United Methodist Church. He served in the Merchant Marines for 10 years. After 30 years he retired from driving the school bus for the Greene County Board of Education. He was the water and waste water treatment plant operator for the City of Greensboro. In 1985 he moved to Brunswick where he was the waste water treatment plant operator.
He is survived by his wife Frances Lackey Dolvin of Brunswick, GA; a step-daughter, Kathryn Wiles and husband Billy of Sandersville, GA; two step-sons, Kenneth Taylor of Siloam, GA and Michael Lollar and wife Dianne of Brunswick, GA; three brothers, John Lane Dolvin of Norcross, GA, George Dolvin and Jerry Dolvin both of Siloam, GA; three grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Graveside funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 15, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at Siloam Cemetery with Rev. Gary Nicholas officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday night from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W. Broad St., Greensboro, GA, (706) 453-2626, is in charge of arrangements.
