Rachel Secrist Copelan
 
Rachel Secrist Copelan, age 49, of the Greshamville Community, died on Friday, December 27, 2013 at Athens Regional Medical Center.  Born in Beech Grove, Indiana on September 7, 1964, she was the daughter of George Arlen Secrist and the late Betty Louise Hawkins Secrist.  She graduated from Athens Tech and on June 17, 1992 she married Wheeler Rossman “Ross” Copelan III.  She was very talented in arts and crafts and worked for Happy Valley Pottery. Rachel was a member of Fork Chapel United Methodist Church.  Along with her arts and crafts, she loved to crochet and plant flower boxes.  She was a wonderful mother and wife and will truly be missed by her family and friends.
 
She is survived by her husband Wheeler Rossman “Ross” Copelan III; father, George Arlen Secrist; daughter, Katie Copelan; son, Tony Williams; sister, Patrice Secrist; three brothers, Tim Secrist, Phil Secrist and Mark Secrist. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by a sister, Pam Secrist Kelly.
 
A private family service will be held at a later date.  The family requests that any memorials be made to Fork Chapel United Methodist Church Memorial Building Fund, 1670 Reid Duvall Road, Madison, GA 30650.  McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
