R. B. Hunt, age 68, of Greensboro, Georgia, died Sunday, June 8, 2003 at Athens Regional Medical Center. He was born in Greene County on November 30, 1934 to the late Reginald Samuel "Rex" Hunt and Mildred Doris Copelan Hunt and was a lifelong resident. In 1953 he graduated from Greensboro High School. He was a dairy farmer and later worked as a grounds keeper for Harbor Club. He was a member of Walker United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Vadie Shelton Hunt of Greensboro, GA; four daughters, Dorothy Grant and husband Carl Jr. of Greensboro, GA, Debra Silvey and husband Ricky of Union Point, GA, Lisa Thornton and husband Steven of Greensboro, GA and Jessica L. Hunt of Greensboro, GA; four sons, Samuel B. Hunt and wife Crystal of Greensboro, GA, Bobby Lee Hunt and wife Misty of Greensboro, GA, James Hunt and wife Rosilyn of Woodville, GA and Bryan Hunt and wife Jennifer of Eatonton, GA; a sister, Lina Belle Sherrer and husband Robert of Union Point, GA; a brother, Warner Hunt and wife Mary of Watkinsville, GA; Twelve grandchildren, Joshua Grant, Jennifer Grant, Joey Moss, Rebecca Moss, Jacob Thornton, Thomas Thornton, Ashleigh Hunt, Megan Hunt, Ethan Hunt, Tristan Hunt, Austin Tyler Hunt and Blake Hunt; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, June 10, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at McCommons Chapel with Rev. James W. Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Greenview Cemetery in Greensboro. Serving as pallbearers are Michael Walker, James Walker, Jesus Tabares Sr., Chuck Anthony, Phillip Maxwell and Michael Lanier. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday night at the funeral home. McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W. Broad St., Greensboro, GA, (706) 453-2626, is in charge of arrangements.
