Phyllis Eugenia Ellis Bickerstaff of Greensboro, GA died on Monday, January 1, 2018 at the age of 70 at her residence. Phyllis was born in Atlanta, GA on August 7, 1947, the daughter of the late Edward Eugene Ellis and Eunice Mildred Thaxton Nicholas.  She graduated from high school while living in Augusta, GA.  In 1991 she moved from Augusta to Greene County where she worked for the Waffle House as a waitress for many years.  She enjoyed watching television, especially Hallmark movies, cooking and being with family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son Harry Hogan, Jr. and a daughter, Millie Bickerstaff.  She is survived by five children, Catherine Lynn Hogan of Greensboro, GA, James Hogan of Cumming, GA, Melanie Barber of North Augusta, SC, Angela Salter of Augusta, GA and James Salter of Athens, GA; sister, Gayle Spires of Belvedere, SC, two brothers, Bobby Ellis of Lafayette, TN and Wayne Ellis of Gainesville, GA; 8 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, January 5, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Callaway Chapel, 208 N. Rhodes Street, Union Point, GA 30669 with Rev. Wayne Usry officiating.  Serving as pallbearers are James Hogan, James Salter, Larry Frix, Ray Waldroup, John Barber, Johnny Barber.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until time for the service at Callaway Funeral Home in Union Point, GA.  Interment will follow in the Siloam Cemetery, Church Street, Siloam, GA 30665.  Callaway Funeral Home, 208 N.
