Philip Otha Thurmond, age 88, of North Ft. Myers, FL died September 1, 2004 at Hope Hospice in Cape Coral, FL. He was born April 13, 1916 in Greene County to the late Thomas Otha Thurmond and Addie E. Nash Thurmond. During World War II he served in the United States Army in the Pacific Theater. He was an auto salesman.
He is survived by two daughters, Myra Khan of Baton Rouge, LA and Phlylis Forsch of Oxnard, CA; two sons, Ronald Thurmond of Orlando, FL and Randall Thurmond of Altamonte Springs, FL; two sisters, Lois Thurmond Strasbaugh of North Ft. Myers, FL, and Myralene Thurmond Williams of Sharpes, FL; 8 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by a son Robert Thurmond.
Graveside services will be held Friday, September 10, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. at New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery in Greshamville with Rev. Ken Keely officiating. McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
