Peggy Jo Hardigree Holcomb

Peggy Jo Hardigree Holcomb, age 80, of White Plains, GA  died Monday, March 9, 2015 at Greene Point Health and Rehabilitation in Union Point.  Born on April 2, 1934 in Greene County she was the daughter of the late John Henry Hardigree and Mary Lou Lewis Hardigree.  She attended school in Union Point and married Richard Clyde Holcomb on August 3, 1952 and they made their home in White Plains.  She worked at Minnie G. Boswell Memorial Hospital as a nurses aid.  Peggy was a member of White Plains Baptist Church.  She was a wonderful mother and grandmother and will be missed by her many friends and loved ones.
    
Survivors include her daughter, Kathy Pettit (David) of White Plains, GA; two sons, Ricky H. Holcomb (Deanne) of Greensboro, GA, Dan Holcomb (Malinda) of White Plains, GA;  a sister Montine Merritt  (Jack) of the Liberty Community; and two brothers, Robby Clark Hardigree of Washington, GA, and Larry Kenneth Hardigree of Macon, GA; eight grandchildren, Kim Pettit and her children, Taylor and Mariah Goettie, Josh Pettit (BreAnn) and their son, Dylan, R. J. Holcomb (Leanne) and their children, Nathanael McDaniel, Issac McDaniel and Harley Holcomb; Stephanie Rhoades (Brad) and their children Peyton and Paisley Rhoades, Brooke Allen (David) and their children  Brooklyn Allen, Wyatt Allen, Taylor Allen and Tennett Allen, Drew Holcomb and Tabatha Kelly, Gray Holcomb (Haley) and Ben Holcomb; other relatives and many friends.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Clyde Holcomb and three brothers, Victor Lewis Hardigree, James Hardigree and Earl Hardigree.

Funeral Services will be held, Thursday, March 12, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at White Plains Baptist Church, 1020 Main Street East, White Plains, GA 30678 with Bob Beeland officiating.  Interment will follow in the White Plains Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Wednesday night from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at McCommons Funeral Home.  Serving as pallbearers are Taylor Goettie, Ben Holcomb, Drew Holcomb, Gray Holcomb, R. J. Holcomb and Josh Pettit.  Honorary pallbearers will be William Coleman, Johnny Eley, Loren Leach, Andy Moore and Wilburn Stewart.  McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
