Peggy Whitehead Godbee

Peggy Whitehead Godbee, age 61, of Greensboro, GA died Sunday, March 30, 2008 at Athens Regional Medical Center. Born in Jackson County on November 2, 1946 she was the daughter of Pauline Wood Whitehead of Athens, GA and the late Ralph Henry Whitehead. Peggy graduated from Athens High School. After high school she became a beautician and hairstylist working most of her career in Greene County.

In addition to her mother, Pauline Wood Whitehead, of Athens, GA, she is survived by a daughter, Tonia G. Flores and husband Tony of Watkinsville, GA; two sons, Jason Godbee and wife Regina of Greensboro, GA and Trenton Godbee and wife Karri of Union Point, GA; a sister, Betty Williams and husband Billy of Winterville, GA; three grandchildren, Zack Yearwood, Dustin Cummins and Kensley Godbee; and a number of other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, April 2, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at McCommons Chapel with Rev. Merle Arnold and Rev. Dennis Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow in Wisteria Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Zack Yearwood, Jeff Lester, Chris Williams, Neal Scoggins, Todd Godbee and Jonathan Scoggins.
