Peggy Edwards Obituary

Peggy Fair Edwards, age 72, died at home, Thursday, March 19, 2009, after an extended illness. Peggy was born on April 19, 1936, in Oglethorpe County to the late Frank Fair and Corrie Sue Hicks Fair. She graduated from Oglethorpe County High School and worked as a secretary for Cotton States Insurance Company with the Howard Agency in Colbert, GA for forty-two years. Peggy married Ray Holman Edwards in 1992, and moved to White Plains, Georgia. She was a member of Danielsville Methodist Church. She loved shopping, going to movies and taking care of animals.

Mrs. Edwards is survived by her husband, Ray Holman Edwards of White Plains, GA; a step daughter, Cristel Radford and husband Shannon of Suwanee, GA; two step sons, Darrell Edwards and Keith Edwards both of White Plains, GA; a brother, Jack Fair and wife Libby of North Augusta, SC; sister-in-law, Audrey Hayes and husband Nathan of White Plains, GA; a special niece, Shara Fair of Crawford, GA; special great nephews, Doug Herzberg and Zachery Herzberg of Crawford, GA; nephew and great nephew, Jay Fair and Bryce Fair of Crawford, GA; niece and nephew, Lisa Fair and Jack Fair of North Augusta, SC; nephew, Michael Carvell of Athens, GA; and a niece, Kristin Hardwick of San Francisco, CA; a grandchild, Cooper Radford and many other friends and relatives along with her special cats, Abbie and Socks and pet bird, Pooka.

Graveside Services will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2009 at 11:30 a.m. at White Plains Baptist Church Cemetery with Dr. Pauline Hughes officiating. Anyone wishing to make a memorial donation may do so to the American Cancer Society, 1684 Barnett Shoals Road, Athens, GA 30605. The family will receive visitors on Friday night, March 20, 2009 from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at McCommons Funeral Home in Greensboro. McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
