Paxton Joseph McCarroll

Paxton Joseph McCarroll, four and 1/2 year old son of Miriam McCommons McCarroll and Michael Phillip McCarroll, passed away on November 29, 2018 at St. Mary’s Hospice House in Watkinsville. He was born June 17, 2014 in Athens, GA. He attended Oconee Primary School and Oconee Presbyterian Church.  Paxton had the sweetest smile when you talked to him or rubbed him.  Throughout his life he brought joy and happiness to everyone he touched.  He enjoyed the noises around him and listening to music. 

In addition to his parents, Miriam and Michael McCarroll of Watkinsville, GA, he is survived by his brother, Maddox McCarroll; paternal grandparents, Phil and Cathy McCarroll of Marietta, GA; and maternal grandparents, Steve and Trudy McCommons of Greensboro, GA; paternal great-grandmother, Mary Tinker; aunts and uncles, Elizabeth and Kevin Bunn and their children Keaton and Karson, Billy and Ali McCommons and their children Will, Mac and Mary Claire, and Meredith and Alan Ethridge and their children Hudson and Hunter and many other relatives and friends who loved Paxton very much. 

A private service will be held for the family with Rev. Joel Tolbert officiating. Interment will follow in Greenview Cemetery, Memorial Drive, Greensboro, GA 30642. Serving as pallbearers will be his cousins: Keaton Bunn, Karson Bunn, Will McCommons, Mac McCommons, Mary Claire McCommons, Hudson Ethridge and Hunter Ethridge.  The family requests that donations be made online to Children’s Health Care of Atlanta: at TouchdownsForChildrens.org. The Chick-fil-a Peach Bowl will match your donation to Children’s dollar for dollar. In addition, donations may be made to the Atlanta Ronald McDonald house. McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
