Paul Rayburn Lamb, Sr. age 63, of Union Point, GA, died Saturday, July 10, 2010 at Saint Joseph''s At East Georgia in Greensboro. Born on May 23, 1947 in Pelham, Georgia in Mitchell County, he was the son of the late Raburn Lamb and Maggie Delois Futch Lamb. He graduated with a machinist degree from Thomas County Tech and married Jeanette Lowe in 1967. During the Vietnam War, he served his country in the United States Army. While living in Beach Island, South Carolina he worked as a machinist at Graves in Jackson, South Carolina and most recently worked for Nibco in Greensboro as a machinist. He had lived in Union Point for the last five years and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Paul was a member of the Freedom Worship Center in Greshamville.

He is survived by his wife, Jeanette Lowe Lamb of Union Point, GA; a daughter, Tara Lamb Ellis and husband Pastor Kelly of Watkinsville, GA; a son, Paul Rayburn Lamb, Jr. of Watkinsville, GA; grandchildren, Magean Elizabeth Black, Daniel Jacob Ellis, Nathan Kelly Ellis and Noah Paul Ellis. He was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Patty Lamb; a granddaughter, Victoria Leanna Lamb and an infant Lamb that died at birth.

A celebration of his life will be held on Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Freedom Worship Center, 6041 Madison Highway, Greensboro, GA 30642 with Rev. Wayne Powers and Pastor Kelly Ellis officiating. The family will receive friends after the service in the church fellowship hall. McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
