Pansy Mae Hawkins

Pansy Mae Hawkins, age 84, of Athens, Georgia, formerly of Greshamville and Union Point, died Wednesday, August 12, 2009 at Athens Health and Rehab. Born September 1, 1924, she was a native of North Carolina, but had lived in Greene County for more than thirty years. After her husband died in 2006, she moved to Athens. She worked for Wellington Puritan Mills, Inc. in Greensboro. Pansy enjoyed her many cats, travelling and visits from friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Hawkins, Jr. Pansy is survived by good friends, Talmadge and Dianne Morrow of Union Point, GA; and a number of other friends.

Graveside Services will be held on Friday, August 14, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Dennis Mitchell officiating. McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
