Nora Bell Allen Moss, age 89, of Greensboro, GA died Sunday, February 8, 2004 at Minnie G. Boswell Memorial Hospital. She was born in Greene County on August 12, 1914 to the late Jim Allen and Cordelia Harvey Allen and attended Greshamville School. During World War II, she did assembly and inspection at Martin Defense plant in Baltimore, MD and later worked for Mary Leila Cotton Mill as a spinner. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Union Point.
She is survived by her husband, James Thomas Moss of Greensboro, GA; a daughter, Geraldine Vandiver and husband Thomas of Greensboro, GA; a son, Edward L. Garner and wife Joann of Augusta, GA; a sister, Della Clotfeller of Monroe, GA; ten grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and several great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, James M. Garner.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 11, 2004 at 3:00 p.m. at McCommons Chapel with the Rev. Dennis Garner officiating. Interment will follow at Greensboro City Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Thomas Vandiver, Jerry Lee Vandiver, Trick Martin, Jarrell Vandiver, Jammie Martin and Billy Chambers. Honorary pallbearers are Elvis Hanley, Tommie Pursley, Jimmy Martin and Jeremy Bryan. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday night at the Funeral Home.
