Nona Andrews Tolbert
Nona Andrews Tolbert, age 85, of Greensboro, GA died Thursday, March 12, 2015 at Boswell Parker Health and Rehabilitation in Greensboro. A native of Greene County, she was born on October 7, 1929 the daughter of the late Cortez Rawhide Andrews Sr. and Addie Belle Studdard Andrews. She was a graduate of Greensboro High School. She worked at Union Manufacturing in Union Point, McCommons in Greensboro and Citizens Union Bank in Greensboro. She was a member of Walker United Methodist Church since 1951. She served as a choir member and was a member of Moon’s Sunday School Class.
Survivors include her husband, Comer Tolbert of Greensboro, GA;daughter, Kay Stewart and husband Mark of Woodbine, GA and a grandson, Brent Stewart of Woodbine, GA; two sisters, Ellie Mae Andrews Nash of Greensboro, GA, and Delores Andrews Galloway of Tallapoosa, GA; two brothers, George Andrews (Pansy) of Greensboro, GA and Cortez Andrews, Jr. of Greensboro, GA; a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Nona was preceded in death by her daughter, Sue Tolbert Bailey; and siblings, Virginia Gheesling, Ida Merritt, Mattie Hopkins, Ford Andrews and John Andrews.
Funeral Services will be held, Saturday, March 14, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at McCommons Chapel, 109 W. Broad Street, Greensboro, GA 30642 with Rev. John Pike officiating. Interment will follow in the Greenview Cemetery, Memorial Drive, Greensboro, GA 30642. The family will receive friends Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at McCommons Funeral Home. Serving as pallbearers are Keith Nash, Jay Lindsey, Terry Burnett, Brent Stewart, Wayne Hopkins and Kenny Stewart. Honorary pallbearers will be Josh Lindsey, Tom Collier, Jimmy English, Marty Dowdy and Brian Hulsey. McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
