Nina Beal Stewart

Nina Mae Beal Stewart, age 89, of White Plains, GA passed away Saturday, July 13, 2013 at Boswell Parker Health and Rehabilitation. Born in Morgan County, Mrs. Stewart was the daughter of the late Epp Beal and Annie Ophelia Johnson Beal. She was born August 31, 1923 and was educated in the Greene County school system. She married Harry Edward Stewart on August 28, 1943. For a while she worked at Union Manufacturing in Union Point. Later, along with her husband Harry, she was the owner and operator of Stewart''s Phillips 66 Gas Station in White Plains. She was a member of White Plains Methodist Church. She enjoyed reading, sewing and working in her yard.

Mrs. Stewart was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Stewart; and her siblings, Doris Ogletree, Bernice Clear, Henry Beal and Elmer Beal. Survivors include her daughter, Betty Jones and husband Walter of White Plains, GA; a sister, Jewell Harper of Covington, GA; granddaughter, Sheryl Jones Gurley and husband Thomas of McDonough, GA; and two great granddaughters, Kaitlyn Gurley and Kristin Gurley.

Graveside Services will be held Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Greenlawn Cemetery, Rhodes Street, Union Point, GA 30669 with Rev. Bert Mathews officiating. Her nephews will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until time for the service at McCommons Funeral Home. McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
