Natalie Jay Cooper Wilson
Natalie Jay Cooper Wilson of Greensboro, GA, died at St. Mary’s Hospital in Athens, GA on Thursday, October 9, 2014. Natalie was born in Eau Gallie, FL on August 22, 1932 to the late Nathaniel John Cooper and Nettie Mae Moore Cooper. She started work as a Registered Nurse in Macon and finished her nursing career at Georgia Regional Hospital in Decatur. In 1988 she and her husband Gene retired to Lake Oconee in Greensboro, GA. She was a member of Walker United Methodist Church where she enjoyed helping with the Wednesday night suppers and along with her husband a volunteer for eighteen years for the Greene County Christmas Stocking Fund.
In addition to her husband Gene Wilson who passed away in January of 2009, she was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Poole. Natalie is survived by a son, Walter Wilson and his wife, Carol of Augusta, GA; granddaughters, Elizabeth Wilson of Raleigh, NC and Rebecca Wilson of Augusta, GA; grandson, Benjamin Wilson of Augusta, GA; a sister, Lois Yancey of Macon, GA; other relatives and many friends.
Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at 11:30 a.m. at Walker United Methodist Church with Rev. John W. Pike, Jr. Officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at a reception at Walker United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall following the service.
