Myrtle O'Neal Ward

Myrtle O’Neal Ward, age 88, of Greensboro, GA, died March 5, 2005 at her home. A native of Greene County she was born on May 2, 1916 to the late Thomas Jefferson O’Neal and Josephine Newsome O’Neal. She graduated from Siloam High School and was a homemaker. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Greensboro. She was the beloved mother of one daughter, Jean W. Harper and husband Emmett of Siloam, GA; two sons, Robert Lamar “Bobby” Ward and wife Mary of Milledgeville, GA and William Harold “Billy” Ward and wife Lynda of Greensboro, GA; and the beloved grandmother of eight grandchildren, Janet Peeler of Milledgeville, GA, Susan Gebhart and husband Bruce of Littleton, CO, Robby Ward and wife Neecie of Milledgeville, GA, Melony Greene and husband Jon of Siloam, GA, Dawn Graham and husband Chip of Athens, GA, Susanne Ivester and husband Jamie of Good Hope, GA, Jenifer Harper of Greensboro, GA and Katie Ward of Greensboro, GA; and the beloved great grandmother of nine great grandchildren, Rebecca and Bill Peeler, Rob and Tori Ward, Caroline and Clark Gebhart, Evan Ivester, Tyler and Maggie Greene. She was preceded in death by her husband Travis L. Ward and her brother, Lewis P. O’Neal Sr. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, March 8, 2005 at 4:00 p.m. at the Siloam United Methodist Church with Rev. Ed Nelson and Rev. Les Cowart officiating. Interment will follow at Siloam Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Lewis P. O’Neal Jr., Chip Graham, Jon Greene, Jamie Ivester, Wilburn Stewart and Robby Ward. Honorary pallbearers will be George Dolvin, Jerry Dolvin, Jeff Smith, C. J. Stewart Jr., Johnny Lewis, John Lane Dolvin, Donald Clements and Edward Clements.
