Mozelle Christine Howard Maxey, 77, of 651 Rhodes Drive, Elberton, GA, formerly of 1291 Siloam Road, Greensboro, GA died Monday, December 11, 2006. Born in Oglethorpe County she was the daughter of the late John Morris Howard, Sr. and Flossie McGaha Howard. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Greensboro, GA, a homemaker and was widowed by the late Henry Hamilton Maxey.

Survivors include one son, Charles Harrison Maxey of Elberton, GA; one daughter, Judy Carolyn Derreberry of Maryland; two sisters, Clyde Price of Union Point, GA and Martha Jane Hussey of Sparta, GA; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 13, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Eaton officiating. Graveside services will be held at 4:00 p.m. at Greenview Cemetery in Greensboro, GA. The family will be at the home of Charles Maxey, 1460 Tobe Wells Road, Elberton, GA and will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. just prior to the service at Berry Funeral Home.
