Mildred Murden King, age 95, of Union Point, Georgia died Saturday, February 16, 2013 at St. Mary''s Good Samaritan Hospital in Greensboro. Born in Robinson in Taliaferro County on January 4, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Howell Roger Murden and Lillian Shank Murden. She attended school in DeKalb and Taliaferro Counties. She was a member of Robinson Baptist Church and the United Daughters of the Confederacy. As a homemaker she enjoyed cooking, entertaining her friends and playing rummy cube.
In addition to her husband, Ralph Cleophus King, Sr., she was preceded in death by a son, Dennis Howell King; and siblings, Claire Murden Sinclair, Frances Murden Lovejoy, Howell Murden and Louise Murden Askew. She is survived by a son Ralph C. King, Jr. and his wife Linda of Plano, Texas; three granddaughters, Danielle King, Jennifer King Smith and Krista Linscott and two great granddaughters, Christine Hawkins and Katherine Smith.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Callaway Funeral Home Chapel, 208 N. Rhodes Street, Union Point, GA 30669 with Rev. Mark Yearwood officiating. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery, Rhodes Street, Union Point, GA 30669. Serving as pallbearers are Kirby Beggs, Buddy Beggs, Matt Nunn, George Nunn and Bill Callaway. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until time for the service Wednesday at Callaway Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Robinson Baptist Church, P. O.
