Michael Shane Dominy

Michael Shane Dominy, age 36, of Greensboro, GA, died on Monday, March 11, 2013 at Georgia Health Science Medical Center in Augusta. Born at St. Mary''s Hospital in Athens, GA, on April 6, 1976 he was the son of Sandra and Jonathan "Dink" Dominy of Greensboro, GA. Shane attended school in Greene and Oglethorpe counties and completed his education at Athens Tech. He started his driving career with MacLane SE of Athens, GA and then worked for Andrew Logistics out of Irving, Texas. At the time of his death, he was working for Plains Logging, where he had worked for the last three years. "Shaney Bo", as he was affectionately known by his younger cousins, will always hold a special place in their hearts because he loved and played with them. His hobbies included working on old cars and playing video games. Shane was a member of Bethesda Baptist Church of Union Point, GA.

In addition to his parents, Sandra and Dink Dominy of Greensboro, GA, he is survived by his paternal grandmother, Jewell Dominy Cason of Walnut Grove, GA; and a number of beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, especially his Uncle Jay Dominy that he thought of as a brother and his cousins Crystal, Shelly, Chandra and Brandy whom he considered like sisters; and many good friends. He was preceded in death by a brother, Shannon Heath Dominy; his maternal grandparents, Willie Glen Smith, Sr. and Ruby McKinley Smith and his paternal grandfather, Joseph Carl Dominy.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, March 14, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Wesley Chapel Wesleyan Church, 2830 Highway 15 South, Greensboro, GA 30642 with Rev. Tim Tabler and Rev. Wayne Dominy officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Bill Coleman, James Coleman, Allen Coleman, Grant Coleman, Jack Bradley and John "Andy" Lacey. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday night at McCommons Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to assist the family. McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
