Melvin Pierce Bradley, age 63, of Greensboro, GA, died Saturday, March 13, 2010 at his residence. A lifelong resident of Greene County, he was born December 20, 1946 to the late Jack Harold Bradley and Ocie Mae Dye Bradley. He attended Greensboro High School and worked as a supervisor of maintenance at Spartech in Greensboro. He enjoyed fishing and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Greensboro.
Melvin is survived by his wife of thirty-four years, Barbara Poss Bradley of Greensboro, GA; two daughters, Sheryl "Priss" Rutherford and husband Wayne of Barnwell, SC and Shanna Bradley Holcomb and husband Randy of Columbia, SC; three sons, Robby Janes and wife Debbie of Greensboro, GA, Chris Janes of Greensboro, GA and Tyrone Janes of Greensboro, GA; two sisters, Jeanette Hawk Osborne of Atlanta, GA and Edna Muse of Athens, GA; three brothers, Johnny Hawks of Greensboro, GA, Gene Bradley of Greensboro, GA and Harold Bradley of Kerrville, TX; nine grandchildren, Eric Janes, Marissa Janes, Christopher Janes, Jeremy Janes, T.J. Janes, Bradley Janes, Peyton Janes, Deavon Janes and Ava Holcomb; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by a son, Brad Pierce Bradley; and a brother, Roy Bradley.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at 2:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, 203 S. Main Street, Greensboro, Georgia 30642 with Rev. Norman Waldrip and Rev. Wayne Usry officiating. Interment will follow in the Greenview Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Frankie Hunter, Billy Poss, Bill Hardy, Jim Starr, James Thompson and Mike Thompson.
