Melody Ann Dobson David

Melody Ann Dobson David, age 53, of Buckhead, GA, died Friday, August 3, 2007. Born in Essex County, New Jersey on July 3, 1954, she was the daughter of the late William Edward Dobson and Letha Elizabeth Dobson. Until she was five years old she lived in New Jersey and then moved to GA. During her working career Melody was the office manager for Lake Oconee Security Systems, Inc. for the last sixteen years, was a bartender at Mike''s place, worked at RJ''s in Putnam County and worked at Oconee Meats and Spirits. Recently Melody had been living in Greensboro because of her illness. Melody visited the lake area for many years while hunting and camping before moving here in 1990. Among her other interests were gardening, flowers and hummingbirds.

Melody was preceded in death by her husband, Larry David, in April 2005. She is survived by a very good and loyal friend, Debbie Spann of Greensboro, GA; a daughter, Tammy Lynn Jordan Smith of Bethlehem, GA; two sisters, Dawn Meadows of Athens, GA and Linda Harlan of Dallas, TX; two brothers, Robert Dobson of Douglasville, GA and Brian Dobson of Douglasville, GA; two grandchildren, Mesha Smith and Letha Smith; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Memorial Services will be held Friday, August 10, 2007, at 7:00 p.m. at McCommons Chapel in Greensboro with Rev. Dennis Mitchell officiating. The family requests that in lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Oconee Regional Humane Society, P.O.
