On June 5, 1942, she married the late Joseph B. DeLoach, Jr. and moved to the Rockville Community. Susie was born to the couple in 1945 and Joe in 1949. The family moved from Rockville to a dairy farm on Parks Road. Ms. DeLoach finished her B.S. degree in elementary education at GSCW in 1954. She taught in Buckhead, GA, and then at Putnam County Middle School until her retirement in 1977. She was a member of various teacher''s organizations, the Eastern Star, and a former member of Delta Kappa Gamma, an honorary teacher''s society.
