Mary Lois James Woyar

Mary Lois James Woyar of Greensboro, GA, died on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at the age of 90. Born in Potter, NE on April 13, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Henry James and Laura Madden James. Mary Lois was a homemaker before going to work at Burke Marketing Research,  Rich’s Fine China Department at Lenox Square and a miniature doll and furniture store in Buckhead.  Mary Lois collected fine Persian rugs and beautiful antique dolls and doll houses. She was the president of the Atlanta Antique Doll Club, a member of the Atlanta Womens League and was on the board of the Florence Crittenton Home of Atlanta. She and her husband were founding members of Ascension Lutheran Church of Atlanta and Lake Oconee Lutheran Church. Mary Lois was a resident of Greensboro for 26 years moving from Atlanta, GA in 1988 as one of the early residents of Reynolds Plantation.  After moving to Greensboro, she along with Barbara McClure and Opal Logue, started the Christian Outreach Thrift Store (COTS).  She was an excellent seamstress, flower arranger, and loved to garden. Mary Lois enjoyed volunteering at the Christian Outreach Thrift Store and spending time with her family and friends.
 
Mary Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Woyar in 2000 a son, Richard Woyar in 2008 and brother Gordon James 2006.  Mary Lois is survived by a daughter, Marianne (Frank) Botdorf of Greensboro, GA; a son, James (Mary) Woyar of Salida, CO; three grandchildren, Robert (Angie) Woyar of Denver, CO, Carolyn (Dan) Woyar Waldvogle of Salida, CO, and Brooke (Michael) Woyar Natali of Canton, GA; a daughter-in-law, Melody Woyar of Canton, GA;  a great-grandchild, Case Natali; and a number of other relatives and friends.
 
Memorial Services will be held Monday, October 27 at 11:00 am at Lake Oconee Lutheran Church with Rev. Schroeder officiating.  Internment will be in Potter, Nebraska.  Memorial contributions can be made to the Christian Outreach Thrift Store, Post Office Box 1312, Greensboro, GA  30642.  McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
