Mary England Gentry, age 94, of Greensboro, GA, died Saturday, July 28, 2007 at Minnie G. Boswell Memorial Hospital. Born in Gilmer County on December 15, 1912, she was the daughter of the late John Mack England and Arizona Burnett England. She worked in the Carpet Mills in Calhoun, GA for most of her life retiring in 1974. In 1983 she moved to Greensboro, GA to be close to her son, Buddy and his family. She remained active and lived by herself in her home until October of 2006. Then she moved to her new home at Greene Point Nursing Home in Union Point until her death.
She is survived by three children, James Richard "Buddy" Lindsey of Greensboro, GA, Sandra Gentry Freedman of Atlanta, GA and Jerry Gentry of Rome, GA; two sisters, Bonnie England Johnson of Calhoun, GA and Ann England Kindigh of South Carolina; three brothers, James England, Carl England and Mack England all of Calhoun, GA; eleven grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Betty Lindsey Ray; and siblings, Ira England and Betty June England Tate.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, July 30, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. at McCommons Chapel in Greensboro with Rev. Mike Pritchett officiating.
