Martha Lee Marchman "Mot" Channell, age 75, of Greensboro, GA died Sunday, July 7, 2013 at Greene Point Health & Rehab in Union Point. A lifelong resident of Greene County she was born October 25, 1937 in Veazey, the daughter of the late George Thomas Marchman and Vera Jackson Marchman. She attended school in Siloam and Greensboro High School. On September 19, 1954, she married Thomas Judson "Tom" Channell. During her career, she worked for Hunter''s Drugstore and Chandler''s Drugstore, which later became E & E Drugs. She was a member of the Walker United Methodist Church. She enjoyed being with family and friends. Her favorite pastimes were cooking, housekeeping and working in the yard.
In addition to her husband, Tom Channell of Greensboro, GA she is survived by a sister, Shirley M. Byce and her husband Murrell of Greensboro, GA; a brother, George M. Marchman and his wife Terry of Hope Mills, NC; two nephews, Wesley Byce of Newnan, GA and Brian Marchman and his wife Cindi and their daughter Alexandria of Charleston, SC; and a number of other relatives and friends.
Graveside Services will be held Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Siloam Cemetery, Church Street, Siloam, GA with Rev. David Jordan officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until time for the service at McCommons Funeral Home. Serving as pallbearers are Dr. William H. Rhodes, Jr., Wesley Byce, Brian Marchman, Ray Channell, Jr., Clint Davis, Danny Ray, Josh Davis, Cody Davis and Thomas Edwards. McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
