Marjorie Brock Moore, age 83, of Greensboro, GA, died Sunday, May 23, 2010 at Athens Regional Medical Center. She was born on March 17, 1927 in Athens, Georgia to the late George Burton Brock and Lula Loudermilk Brock. She attended Penfield School and graduated from Greensboro High School. On April 2, 1948 Marjorie married Herbert Griffy "Buster" Moore from Greensboro, GA. She was a secretary at Union Manufacturing in Union Point, but left to raise her children. Later she was an inspector for Universal Rundle retiring in 1983. Mrs. Moore was a member of Wesley Chapel Wesleyan Church and enjoyed singing with the Golden Tones at the First Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Griffy "Buster" Moore in March of 1993; and her siblings, Nell Ellis, Gaynell Maxey, Depsey Pedrick, Jennie Hensley, Poley Lon Brock and an infant that died at birth. Survivors include two sons, Bill Moore and wife Gwen of Greensboro, GA and Lee Moore and wife Paula of Greensboro, GA; three grandchildren, Laura Moore, Lynn Moore and John Moore; a great grandchild, Macy Lynn Moore; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, May 25, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Wesley Chapel Wesleyan Church, 2830 Highway 15 South, Greensboro, GA with Rev. Tim Tabler officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Craig Wooster, Derek Leggett, Michael Lanier, Byron Rogers, Chip Merritt and Scott Burden. Honorary pallbearers are Harvey Webb, Tommy Cummings, Jack Jackson and Mike Watts. The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday night at McCommons Funeral Home.
