Marion Fortson Obituary

Marion Walker Fortson, 80, of Greensboro, GA, died April 18, 2004 at Georgia War Veterans Home in Milledgeville, GA. He was born in McDuffie County on December 27, 1923 to the late Edward Luke Fortson and Marion Veazey Walker Fortson. In 1942 he graduated from Greensboro High School and in 1950 from the University of Georgia. He was a retired accountant from Stanislaus County Medical Society Foundation in California and was a member of Siloam Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife Sara Robinson Fortson of Greensboro, GA; two sons, Matt Fortson of Greensboro, GA and Gregory Kenneth Fortson of Modesto, CA; two grandchildren, Sally Fortson and Sara Fortson; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, April 21, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at Greenview Cemetery with The Rev. D. Geoffrey Taylor officiating. The family requests that contributions be made to The Good Samaritan Clinic, c/o The Episcopal Church of the Redeemer, P.O. Box 93, Greensboro, GA 30642. McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
