Marilyn Joyce Cole Chamlee, 78, of Greensboro, GA, died Thursday, January 27, 2011 at St. Mary''s Hospice in Bogart, GA. Born on May 31, 1932 in Atlanta, GA, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Franklin Cole, Sr. and Nellie Grace Palmer Cole. She attended Rosevelt High School in Atlanta and was a homemaker. Joyce was a member of Sylvan Hills Baptist Church in Atlanta, GA.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald W. Chamlee; a brother, Tommie Cole and a granddaughter, Jerri Vessell. She is survived by her children, Tim and Janice Chamlee of Jackson, GA, Greg and Minnie Chamlee of the Liberty Community, Cathy Compton of the Liberty Community and Cindy and Carl Sumner of the Veazey Community; grandchildren, Michael and Rebecca Vessell, Bobbi and Fred Thompson, Christopher and Tammy Compton, Brandon Compton, Joni and Gerald Wheeler, Jessie and David Snipes, Jared Chamlee, Lindsay Sumner, Cole and Loni Sumner, Rebecca Sumner and Spencer Sumner; six great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; two sisters, Ruth and Wayne Chamlee of Social Circle, GA and Mildred and Clifford Moss of McDonough, GA; and a number of other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be held Sunday, January 30, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. at the McCommons Chapel in Greensboro with Rev. Wayne Usry, Rev. Robert Robinson and Rev. Bruce Lovin officiating. Interment will follow in the Liberty United Methodist Church Cemetery, 3091 Liberty Church Road, White Plains, GA 30678. Serving as pallbearers are Steven Chamlee, Robert Cooper, Gerald Wheeler, David Snipes, Jared Chamlee, Cole Sumner, Christopher Compton and Brandon Compton. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday night at McCommons Funeral Home. The family requests that any memorials be made to the Alzheimer''s Association, Georgia Chapter, 1925 Century Blvd., Suite 10, Atlanta, GA 30345. McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
