Marie Piland Veazey, age 74, of White Plains, GA, died Tuesday, February 28, 2006 at Minnie G. Boswell Memorial Hospital. Born in Greene County on July 26, 1931 she was the daughter of the late Arthur Bruce Piland and Mary Reid Googer Piland. She graduated from Union Point High School and attended Georgia State College for Women in Milledgeville. Marie was a beautician and a member of White Plains Baptist Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Vivian Rhodes Veazey of White Plains, GA and Mary Veazey Poore of McDonough, GA; a son, Sam P. Veazey of White Plains, GA; two brothers, Reid Mullins of Loganville, GA and Michael Mullins of Buckhead, GA; five grandchildren, Sara Moon, Cyndi Moon, Charles Veazey, Betsey Poore and Max Poore; and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her brother Charles C. "Red" Piland.
Graveside Services will be held on Friday, March 3, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at White Plains Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Curtiss Moore officiating. The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Thursday night at the funeral home. The family requests that any memorials be made to White Plains Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, P. O.
