Marie Alexander Moody

Katherine Marie Alexander Burgess Moody, age 82, of Greensboro, GA, died Friday, August 28, 2009 at Greene Point Health Care Center in Union Point. Born in Marshall County, Alabama on June 29, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Homer Henderson and Ada Alexander Henderson. Marie attended school at Albertville Alabama High School. Most of her adult life was spent in Greensboro, but for the last few years she had made her home at Greene Point Health Care Center in Union Point. She worked for Bryan Scott in Greensboro as a Sock Pairer and was a member of West End Baptist Church.

Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Cleo Burgess in 1986; and two sons, Randall Burgess and Joe Burgess. She is survived by two daughters, Carolyn Chandler of Greensboro, GA and Delores Ayers of Greensboro, GA; two sons, Jerry Burgess of Auburn, GA and Donnie Burgess of Carlton, GA; twelve grandchildren; a number of great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, August 31, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at McCommons Chapel in Greensboro with Rev. Robert Robinson officiating. Interment will follow at Greenview Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Chris Martin, Benny Burgess, Shannon Griffin, Chad Chandler, Stacy Reese and Dean Braddy.
