Margaret Charles Obituary

Margaret Bonner Charles, age 90, of Greensboro, GA, died Saturday, February 12, 2005 at Minnie G. Boswell Memorial Hospital. She was born in Jones County on October 21, 1914 to the late John Wyatt Bonner and Wilhelmina Beusse Bonner of Gray, GA. She attended Wesleyan College and worked as an Administrative Assistant at the Georgia Department of Veterans Administration for thirteen years, Allied Mills for three years and the Department of Family and Children Services for five years. She moved to Greene County in 1943 and was the first resident to move into Willow Run Retirement Home where she had enjoyed living since 1998. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church where she played the organ and piano for twenty-five years, taught in the Young Women''s Department and was an officer of the Wesleyan Service Guild. She was a wonderful lady who was loved by everyone.

Survivors include a son, George Melvin Charles Jr. and wife Sandra of Clayton, GA; two sisters, Henrietta Baughcum of Nashville, TN and Mary Ellen Lunceford of Orlando, FL; a brother, John W. Bonner of Camden, SC; three grandsons, Chris Charles, Craig Charles and Les Charles; eight great grandchildren, Kevin Charles, Jared Charles, Mary Margaret Charles, Katie Charles, Christina Charles, Lindsey Charles, Haley Charles and Jenna Charles; and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband George Melvin Charles Sr. and a sister Wilhelmina Evans.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, February 15, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Greensboro with Rev. Richard Chewning and Rev. Melvin Charles officiating. Graveside services will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Highview Cemetery in Gray, GA. Serving as pallbearers are her grandchildren and great grandchildren; Chris Charles, Craig Charles, Les Charles, Kevin Charles, Jared Charles and Mary Margaret Charles. The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday night at the funeral home. Any memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Greensboro, P. O.
