Mabel Pearce Joyner Stacy, 84, of Greensboro, Georgia died Monday, October 14, 2002 at her residence. Born on June 20, 1918 in Oklawaha, Florida, she was the daughter of the late Frank Marvin Joyner and Minnie Lee Joyner. She graduated from Hillsborough High School in Tampa, Florida and Florida Southern College where she was a member of Delta Zeta Sorority. She assisted her father in the hybridization and farming of caladiums in Lake Placid, Florida. She had worked as a teacher for Hillsborough High School, a secretary for the railroad and a real estate broker in the Atlanta area. After retirement she and her husband moved to Greensboro in 1988. She was a member of the United Methodist Women and Walker United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir.
She was preceded in death by her husband Clyde Stanley Stacy in October of 1993. She is survived by two nieces, Gail Dee Moore of Tampa, Florida and Marveen Epps of Texas; a nephew, Carl B. Magnon of Waterford, California; and several great nieces and great nephews.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, October 19, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. at Walker United Methodist Church with Rev. Rick Maeser officiating. The family requests that memorials be made to Walker United Methodist Church, 2730 Walker Church Road, Greensboro, Georgia 30642. McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
