Lula Belle Bolton Johns
Lula Belle Bolton Johns of Union Point, GA, formerly of Athens, GA, died on Monday, March 14, 2016 at the age of 85 at Greene Point Health Care & Rehabilitation. Lula was born in Colbert, GA on June 1, 1930, the daughter of the late Clifford Bolton and Lorene Martin Bolton. She attended school in Colbert, GA. For over twenty years she worked as a sales clerk for Roses in Athens, GA. She was a member of Cornerstone Church in Athens, GA, but more recently she attended Wesley Chapel Wesleyan Church in Greensboro, GA. She enjoyed playing bingo, reading her Bible and helping others.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Johns; and a son, Charles Watts. She is survived by a son Michael Dwayne Watts and his wife Betty Ann; two sisters, Dorothy Gordon (Billy) and Addie McCannon; grandchildren, Michelle Barrett (Brian), Jeremy Watts, Brad Watson (Scarlett) and Amy Yearwood (Adam); great grandchildren, Whit and Caroline Barrett, Noah and Courtney Watson and Ethan Yearwood; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Callaway Chapel, 208 N. Rhodes Street, Union Point, GA 30669 with Rev. Tim Tabler officiating. Serving as pallbearers are Jeremy Watts, Brad Watson, Adam Yearwood, Brian Barrett, Wayne Hopkins, Bobby McCannon and Tim McCannon. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until time for the service at Callaway Funeral Home in Union Point, GA. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Rhodes Street, Union Point, GA 30669.
