Louis Joseph Passarella, Sr., age 82, of Buckhead, GA died Friday, June 3, 2011 at Saint Joseph''s At East Georgia Hospital in Greensboro, GA. Born on May 16, 1929 in Melrose Park, IL, he was the son of the late Rocco Passarella and Alma Boldt Passarella. He attended St. Paul Lutheran School, graduated from Proviso High School in Maywood, IL, and attended Northwestern University. He married Dorothy Schermeister on August 26, 1950 in Eureka, IL and worked as a sporting goods buyer for Sears and Roebuck. They lived in Buckhead for the past ten years moving from Atlanta after his retirement.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Donald J. Passarella; two brothers, Carl Passarella and Rocco Passarella; and a sister-in-law, Virginia Passarella. He is survived by his wife of 60 years Dorothy L. Schermeister Passarella; two daughters, Liz Roberts of Buckhead, GA and Susan Shearouse and husband Donald of Cumming, GA; four sons, Louis J. Passarella Jr. and wife Kathy of Buckhead, GA, Lawrence H. Passarella and wife Cheryl of Atlanta, GA, John R. Passarella and wife Deborah of Statham, GA, Kenneth C. Passarella and wife Jill of Ft. Myers, FL; daughter-in-law, Sara Passarella of Atlanta, GA; sister-in-law, Rose Passarella of Las Vegas, NV; fourteen grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and a number of other relatives and friends.

Memorial services will be held Sunday, June 12, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. at McCommons Chapel, 109 W. Broad Street, Greensboro, GA 30642 with Pastor Phil Larsen officiating. The family will receive friends at their home after the service.
