Lois Lipscomb Dunagan

Lois Lipscomb Dunagan, age 91, of White Plains, GA., died Monday, March 21, 2011 at Greene Point Health & Rehab in Union Point, GA. Born in Calhoun, Georgia on July 28, 1919, she was the daughter of the late William Leonard Lipscomb and Delilah Annie Gazaway Lipscomb. Lois graduated from Greensboro High School. Most of her life she was a homemaker and for a while worked as a waitress at Holcomb''s BBQ. She was a lifetime member of White Plains Baptist Church where she was the song leader for a number of years. Mrs. Dunagan loved her church, her family, her friends and her hometown of White Plains. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Dunagan in September of 1977; son, William Robert "Bobby" Dunagan; three grandchildren, Robert Lee Dunagan, Russell Lee Dunagan and Charles Brandon Dunagan; and her siblings: Ann Ford, Guy Lipscomb, Roberta East, Elizabeth Pinkerton and Mildred Walker. She is survived by a daughter, Susan Scott and husband Howard of Snellville, GA; two sons, Dickie Dunagan and wife Carol of White Plains, GA and Joe Dunagan and wife Joan of Watkinsville, GA; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; and her beloved niece, Joan Moncrief who was so kind and helped with her care; and a number of other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, March 23, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at the White Plains Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Norman Waldrip and Rev. Farrett Boswell officiating. Interment will follow in the White Plains Baptist Church Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are William Coleman, David Price, Richard Stewart, Ike Moore, Phil Eley and Allen Askew. Honorary pallbearers are the deacons of White Plains Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday night at McCommons Funeral Home.
