Linda Ray (Barnett) Rhodes

Linda Ray Barnett Rhodes, 70 of Crawfordville, GA died Monday, March 4, 2019 at Augusta University Medical Center.  Linda was born July 6, 1948 in Greensboro, the daughter of the late James Thomas Barnett and Juanita Powell Barnett.  Linda attended Greensboro High School and Athens Technical School, graduating with a Licensed Practical Nurse degree. She worked for 29 years at Minnie G. Boswell Memorial Hospital.  She was a member of Margaret’s Grove Baptist Church.  She enjoyed playing the piano, her flowers and working in her yard.  She had a beautiful smile and a great personality and was loved very much.  She will be missed by her family and friends.

In addition to her parents Linda was preceded in death by her son, John Courtney Rhodes, Jr.; sister, Betty Key; and brothers, James Elder Barnett, Sr. and J. Keith “Sport” Barnett. She is survived by her husband, J. C. Rhodes; daughters, Brenda Kay Rhodes of Crawfordville, GA and Sheila Rhodes of Sharon, GA; sisters, Patricia  McNair of Greensboro, GA, Margaret Loveless of Greensboro, GA and Patsy Forehand of Washington, GA; three grandchildren, Tionne Rhodes, Tyler Rhodes and Terrance Rhodes; great grandchild, Taylor Rhodes; a number of other relatives and many friends.

Funeral service will be held Thursday, March 7, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W. Broad Street, Greensboro, GA 30642 with Rev. Albert Stroup officiating. Interment will follow in the Walker United Methodist Church Cemetery, 2730 Walker Church Road, Greensboro, GA 30642.  Serving as pallbearers are Tyler Rhodes, Terrance Rhodes, Chris Merritt, Dusty Merritt, James Taylor and Cecil Powell. The family will receive friends Wednesday March 6, 2019 at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.  McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
