Linda Sue (Smart) Lewis

Linda Sue Smart Lewis, age 76, of Greensboro, GA died Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Athens, GA. Linda was born on June 30, 1939, in Columbus, OH, as the daughter of the late Edward Jewett Smart and Doris Thelma Lutz Smart. She graduated from Hilliard High School in Columbus, OH. Along with being a homemaker, Linda worked for Western Electric in Ohio for twenty-two years as stock room manager. She also worked nine years at Schlumberger Technology in Norcross, GA.  She lived in Duluth for fifteen years and in 1995 she retired to Lake Oconee in Greensboro.  On May 4, 1996 she married Robert “Bob” Lewis.  She was a member of the First United Methodist Church North Campus of Greensboro. She enjoyed word search, fishing and boating, collecting stickers for scrapbooking and being with her family.  She was also a member of the Georgia Classic Cruisers Car Club.

In addition to her husband, Bob Lewis of Greensboro, GA, she is survived by a daughter, Tamara Stephens of Warner Robbins, GA, Richard Fuller (Amy) of Greensboro, GA and Michael Fuller of Houston, TX; step daughter, Pam Mentzer of Alexandria, OH; Sister, Donna Woodruff, niece, Lori Reffett; grandchildren, Angie Williamson and Tyler Fuller; step grandchildren, Stephanie (Conrad) Troyer, Megan (Greg) Helser, Robert Mentzer and Matthew George Mentzer; great grandchildren, Selena Sanchez and Diego Sanchez; step great grandchildren, Alana Troyer, Aiden Troyer, Bradley Helser and Blake Helser; other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, March 12, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at McCommons Chapel in Greensboro with Rev. Hugh Hendrickson officiating. The family will receive friends Friday, March 11, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W. Broad Street, Greensboro, GA 30642. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in Hilliard, Ohio. The family requests donations be made to  Golden Retriever Rescue of Atlanta, P.O.
