Linda (Brown) Boswell

Linda Brown Boswell, age 72, of Greensboro, GA, died on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at Landmark Hospital in Athens, GA.  A lifelong resident of Greensboro, she was the daughter of the late Edward Pierce Brown and Jacquelyn Jackson Brown.  She graduated from Greensboro High School where she was the lead majorette and had the privilege of performing at the Orange Bowl in Florida. After high school she attended Wesleyan College.  On November 26, 1963, she married Lunceford Grover “Rooster” Boswell.  She loved children and taught both Art and Kindergarten at Nathanael Greene Academy.  As a very talented artist, she loved to paint china and create original art to sell and share with her family and friends.

In addition to her husband, Rooster Boswell, she was preceded in death by a brother, Joe Brown, sister Jackie Dunagan; and great granddaughter, Isabella Smith. Survivors include a daughter, Donna Boswell Smith and her husband Larry of Greensboro, sons, J Boswell and his wife Sally of Union Point and John Boswell and his wife Regina of Watkinsville; sister, Ginny Rozier and her husband Mike of Eatonton; grandchildren; Brad and Karen Smith, Bo and Missy Smith, Johnson Boswell, Anna Boswell, Sarah Boswell, Laura Boswell, Hallie Boswell, Eliza Boswell, Emily Boswell and Stephen McCommons; great grandchildren, Beckham Henderson, Sam Smith, Leah Smith, Bentley Cooper Smith and Brixton McCommons; and many other relatives and friends. 

Funeral Services will be held Friday, October 14, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the chapel of McCommons Funeral Home with Rev. Phil Carpenter officiating.  Interment will be in the Penfield Cemetery, 1211 Cemetery Road, Penfield, GA 30669.  Serving as pallbearers are Benji Boswell, Ralph Boswell, Fred Bright, David Dunagan, Richard Dunagan, Michael Strickland, Rex Dauler, and Stephen McCommons.  The family will receive friends Friday from 10:00 a.m. until time for the service at McCommons Funeral Home.
